1500 Metres
The 1500 metres was the big race for Clare. Her whole year was based around training for it. Her psychology was fine tuned throughout the year as was her physical stamina and timing. She would be out on the track several times a week and then down to the gym to keep up her fitness levels.
This year was no different, with the Commonwealth Games the only gold medal missing from her collection. On the day the race started well and she was in a prime place. What cost her the gold medal though was a badly tied track shoe lace which caused her to stumble and fall. The ground lost could not be made up.

They pick up the pieces
