Expectations, a lyric by Alan Ewing

Expectations
by Alan Ewing

Here we go again, expecting all from one another
You can't change someone
Else they'll go undercover

Some might say it's politics that divides the line
Not if you accept another's
View it's fine

Expectations ...

So what do I expect from you in all truth be known
I just want you to be yourself
To strike the right tone

All that matters is the two becoming one together
That above all else
To be divided never

Expectations ...

Middle -Eight
Oh what a world that is so divided
Of this there can be no denying
I just love us to be one and all
Rather than to see us in fall

So swing to right, I'll go left, as we find our way
Somehow meet in centre
As each other have a say

All I know is how I accept you each and every day
This much I do know
I love it when we play

Winter Writing

 Winter Writing
by Alan Ewing

Tribute (to my little punkette Sarah Sara)

)

She's my little punkette
Lest I forget
Totally my mate
Ain't it great

To have someone
Like that around
She's my little friend
Until the very end
Love her to bits

Such teenage kicks
In her little ways
She's my best friend
Always with trend

I couldn't wish for
For anything more
Her knockin' down
My high wall

Brings me down to Earth
Shows my true worth
She is so kind
I could hardly find
A better friend

Yes, it's all online my dear
Nothin' crazy
Have no fear
She is friendship
Itself

Guess I'm livin' the dream

Twelfth Night

Here we go again with Twelfth Night
Now, tell me is it the fifth or sixth?
Well, I'm not seeking argument on this
Certainly not the fifth and sixth in conflict

The night rolls on with daybreak next day
And so the sixth plays a part in Twelfth
It really does not matter very much to me
For on sixth daybreak, we have Epiphany

Well, take your decorations down anyway
Or leave them up to burn on Shrove Tuesday
This is what tradition says about Twelfth Night
Escape being Candlemas 2nd February light

So hope that it's been merry over twelve days
Now go out and see one of Shakespeare's plays
Which one you may ask to pass the test?
Answer is Twelfth Night which is suited best

Time Crackles

Time Crackles
Time crackles as the seasons go on
Have the good times been and gone?
No more Mabel giving her best dance
As Carly worked herself into a trance
The days when I would stand at the bar
Pouring myself an ale, just one more jar
Last one standing being the total fool
Then hangovers and his workshop tool
The seasons pass for those who notice
Back to school at the rainy bus-stop
In the pouring rain middle of January
School life is about being on the hop
And so time crackles as the seasons wander
You can't keep up as you freeze and sweat
To the seasons you always have to pander
Whether you are boiling or you are soaked wet

Woman Obsession

Obsession on a woman

 is not good.

 Though it is.

 Ride your bike

through the night

 and try not to

 ring your bell.

 For she can never tell

if you are in love with her

 God's Games we play,

 in romance anyway,

 a simple chance to be.

SOCKS GAG: Billy was chuffed with himself: 'Look I spent all of my Christmas Presents money on socks.  Edna had really had enough: 'Put a sock in it will you!'
